Build a figure

 
 

For a figure to be accepted into “The Peace Heard Project”,  the person to be represented must have made a positive contribution through non-violent means.  This can include conflict resolution, workers right, child protection, disaster relief, medical service, enabling economic growth, teaching, ....  The artist must live  or have lived in their subjects homeland or land of impact.

Before building your sculpture have your subject’s biography approved for viability and to prevent duplication.

Each sculpture must be accompanied by an approved digital biography of the figure, with links to any digital information about the subject and the deeds that make them eligible for the “heard”.

And artist or organization biography will also be included. The artist/organization must choose a subject from their current region or origins.

 

The Sculpture

Size:

+- 13% of the actual size of person meaNT to represent.


Materials:

Any “out-door durable” material:  Ceramic, metal, polymer, WOOD....


Mounting-provisions:

Must be easily fitted for bolts that will be cemented into ground.

Figure position:

Standing, kneeling, and sitting figures will be accepted. Support object;ie chair, cushion must not extend beyond the figure and must also be made from “out-door durable” materials. 

Style:

representational figures are preferred.  Abstraction is inevitable, so please make the abstractions inform the subject.


ShOWING YOUR SCULPTURE LOCALY

I WILL HELP YOU DISCOVER LOCAL VENUES TO SHOW THE SCULPTURE UNTILL your sculpture is accepted for the PERMANENT INSTALLATION SITE.


Central California will be having it’s first group show starting Feburary 2015 @ the Sierra Azul Gardens, Watsonville, CA.



Choosing your subject

Who can submit a figure.

Any artist, or organization with the facilities funding and ability to create a durable sculpture that gives honor to the person it is meant to represent.

1: Biography of Proposed figure w/ highlights that make them eligible for the Peace Heard Project.
2: Artist Biography
3: Medium of proposed sculpture
4: Position :ie seated or standing ect..of proposed sculpture
5: An estimate for hours to create and the cost of materials .
